How many times have you gotten a sore throat as a kid? Do you remember what your mom or dad did to help you get over it? Let’s first start with what a sore throat is. The medical term for a sore throat is called Pharyngitis. According to Wikipedia, Pharyngitis is a painful inflammation of the pharynx which may also lead to the infection of the tonsils (tonsillitis) and/or larynx (laryngitis) at the same time. For those of you who have never had Pharyngitis, laryngitis, or tonsillitis, let me give you a brief description of it from my own first-hand experience.

When I was younger, I had streptococcal Pharyngitis several times (aka: strep throat). It was most unpleasant. A few years later, I went on to have tonsillitis, another unpleasant infection. In both instances, I felt like my throat was about ten times the size of my head and also had the sensation that it was increasingly difficult to swallow. When I was able to swallow, I found it incredibly painful to do so. There was also a white film on my tongue and my tonsils were inflamed and red. When I had tonsillitis, the infection was so bad that I remembering the doctor telling my mother that he would have to monitor it over the week and if it didn’t get better with the antibiotics, I would have to have my tonsils removed. I took the antibiotics and within a couple of weeks, I was all better. However, there are some people out there who would rather take a more homeopathic approach when it comes to medicine.

The most popular cure for a sore throat for those who wish to go the natural route is cayenne pepper. It is usually left up to the person’s discretion, but take a small amount of cayenne pepper (no more than 1/8th teaspoon) and mix it in some warm water. Take this mixture and gargle with the cayenne pepper and water for a few minutes every fifteen minutes or so. Afterwards, if you need some relief from the burning pepper feeling, pour a little bit of salt into one hand and wet the index finger of the other hand. With that same index finger, dip it into the salt and place the salt under your tongue (not ON the underside of the tongue). This will usually provide immediate relief.

There are a lot of homeopathic remedies for curing common ills. However, a lot of people tend to rely solely on current medicines to fix their problems. In an overmedicated society, this can be good and bad. However, there is nothing wrong with all natural remedies. Cayenne pepper is also shown to have other positive effects on the body such as curing ulcers, aiding with arthritis relief, regulating blood sugar levels, lowering cholesterol, acting as a natural blood thinner, improving circulation, and stopping blood loss. If all else fails, you can even use cayenne pepper to clear up your sinuses! Whatever your preference, keep cayenne pepper in the house-just in case!

According to Wikipedia, growth hormone is a hormone that stimulates growth and cell reproduction in humans and other animals. Somatrotrophin refers to the growth hormone produced naturally by animals while the term somatropin refers to the growth hormone that has been synthesized by DNA technology. The primary use of human growth hormone (HGH) is to increase the height of children throughout childhood as well as to treat various diseases.

Human growth hormone is primarily used to treat the effects of growth hormone deficiency, which varies by age. For example, in children, the failure to grow, sexual immaturity as well as being abnormally short for their age are the main indicators of growth deficiency. In adults, growth deficiency can be measured by lack of strength, energy, bone mass as well as an increased cardiovascular risk. To test for growth deficiency, patients are typically put through a series of tests that look at the person’s pituitary gland. Doctors will usually use some sort of stimulus to provoke the release of human growth hormone as a way of measuring the problem.

Some of the more controversial uses of human growth hormone have been for the following: treatment for remission of multiple sclerosis, treatment to reverse the effects of aging in older adults, treatment to enhance weight loss in obesity, treatment for fibromyalgia, treatment for Crhohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, treatment for idiopathic short stature, treatment for bodybuilding or athletic enhancement as well as the use of bovine somatotropin to increase milk production in cattle.

As you may all remember, people who had never heard of HGH before definitely became aware of it during the last Olympics when star athletes were first accused and then later found guilty for taking HGH to enhance their performance in athletics. Dr. Laurie Barclay of the Accrediation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) clearly stated in an article released by Medscape in March of 2008 that: “Although sports doping, or the use of human growth hormone to improve athletic performance, is banned by most professional sports leagues and associations, athletes involved in several different sports have been implicated in illicit use of growth hormone. Athletes reportedly use growth hormone to enhance athletic performance, but its efficacy for this purpose is still unclear.”

So, if you’re an athlete and you’re thinking that you want to have an edge over your competition, you should really sit down and reconsider your options. Chances are that HGH is NOT going to improve your performance as much as it may improve your ability to fit into those size three jeans. Likewise, if you are a person over the age of 50 and you’re thinking that you can’t handle the effects of getting older, you may want to re think your options. Truth be told, if there is nothing truly wrong with you; if you don’t really have a good, defined medical reason for doing so; avoid taking drugs for anything when you can. You were born a certain way; deal with it. After all, you’ll end up spending tons of money which, in the end, may not even make you happy. We only need look at Michael Jackson to see that fact.

Do you want to know how you can cure excessive underarm sweating and put an end to your sweating problems? This article will show you the top 5 methods you can use to cure excessive sweating. Truth be told, excessive sweating can really lower your social image and self esteem. Excessive sweating makes you to look and smell bad so you should really do everything you can to put an end to excess sweating.

Take Good Care Of Your Hygiene

It is very important for you to take good care of your body’s hygiene. Doing so will make sure your body does not sweat that much and that easily. Bath yourself at least two times a day will reduce the amount you sweat while making you to smell sweet. Another tip to stop sweating and body odor is to use deodorizing shower foam while you bath. Besides that, if you want to cope with excessive sweating, you must make sure the clothes you wear are clean or newly washed. Doing so will ensure you smell good and sweat less.

Water

Contrary to most beliefs, if you have sweating issues, you need to drink more water. This is because of several reasons. One of them is because since you are a heavy sweater, you should replenish your body’s loss of water frequently. Water also helps maintain your body’s general health. Another good benefit of drinking water is that it flushes out the toxins out of your body through mostly urination and not through sweating. As a result, you sweat less and smell nicer.

Foods You Should Eat

What you eat everyday makes a big difference in how you sweat and how you smell. Some foods cause serious odor, some foods cause an increased rate of perspiration, and some foods are seriously good for you if you have sweating problems.

Foods you should eat:

    * Foods rich in zinc
* Sage
* Green vegetables
* Fruits
* Alfalfa
* and so many more…

These are the foods that can improve your hormonal system and digestive system, which in turn, will improve or regulate your body’s rate of perspiration.

Foods You Should Avoid At All Cost

While there are foods that improve your sweating problems, there are also foods that cause you to sweat more and smell worse, especially under your arms. These foods listed below are what you should avoid at all cost.

    * Garlic and Onions
* Fish, Meats
* Curries
* Fried Foods
* Foods with a lot of coloring and chemical additives

Alcohol, Coffee and Cigarettes

The three listed above are all stimulants and they linger in your body’s blood stream for several hours, which means you are going to smell bad for at least a few hours if you consume any of these. Since they are stimulants, they cause your perspiration rate to go up. Quit them and your underarms will sweat less.

Natural Deodorants

If you have excessive underarm sweating, you should also wear some natural deodorant before going out. Putting on some good deodorant will make sure your underarms sweat less and smell nice.

It’s a normal thing for you to sweat a lot during intensive workouts. But what if your really sweat heavily abnormally during your workouts? What can you do to reduce your body’s perspiration rate? If you feeling very uncomfortable of the heavy sweating during workouts, this article will show you some ways to reduce your excessive sweating.

Tip 1 - Wear the right clothes with the right materials.

If you always sweat heavily, during your workouts, you are only going to sweat more. For this reason, you need to stay as cool as possible. Your body should be well ventilated so that you wont sweat as much. To achieve this, you start with your sports clothing. Your shirt should be loose instead of tight. Other than that, you should also make sure you wear sports clothings with good ventilation.

What you wear during your workout is going to make a lot of difference in how much you sweat. Make sure you follow the guidelines listed above and you will most certainly reduce your sweating easily and effortlessly.

Tip 2 - Drink more water.

If you are a heavy sweater, during your workouts, you should drink more water. That is because during your workouts, you sweat more than normally you do. Make sure you replenish your body’s loss of water by drinking more water.

Tip 3 - Workout in a cool, ventilated space.

By working out in a cool and ventilated space will reduce your body’s rate of perspiration. As a result, you are dry and cool all the time during the workout.

Tip 4 - Wear a good deodorant before working out.

You should always wear a good deodorant before working because a good deodorant will make sure you smell nice and sweat less. If you go to a store near you, you can find a huge variety of deodorants. I recommend using only natural ones.

Finally, I want to stress that it is very normal for you to sweat during workouts. It’s something natural so you shouldn’t get upset if you sweat a lot during your workouts. If you are not comfortable of sweating during exercises, you can apply the tips above to reduce your perspiration rate.

Attention seeking behavior is a behavior that most emotionally disabled students demonstrate at a young age. This behavior is an action to gain attention from others by words or actions that are usually inappropriate. This could as simple as finger snapping, making funny noises, making faces or other behaviors that would divert the attention of a group to the attention seeking individual.

To manage these behaviors count the frequency of each action and record it. The student should be made aware that their behavior is inappropriate and the parent or teacher should let the student know that it is a behavior that can be changed. Set up a reward system where if the frequency of the behaviors are lowered the child will receive an agreed upon prize.

To add to this program, provide opportunities so that the child can legitimately gain positive attention. Each positive behavior response should be rewarded immediately when the action occurs. If a negative response happens when this supplemental activity is going on, the parent or teacher should ignore it and wait to reward the appropriate response.

The student or child has to have clear expectations of what is expected of them and provide structured learning environments. Once the child grows beyond the physical rewards, simple verbal rewards such as “Good Job!” or a high five may suffice. The greatest achievement is having the child monitor their own behavior and admit their short comings and achievements. Self monitoring behavior is the first step to positive self control and behavior change.

Chronic disobedience is a major character trait of the emotionally disabled. Chronic disobedience is the action contrary to the directive of an authority figure such as a teacher or a parent. Sometimes the student needs to be reminded of the rules constantly and the reminder may be an attention seeking manipulation. Some traits of this type of student is rudeness and argumentative behavior. Getting out of their seat or acting out are other behaviors that can be attributed to this chronic disobedience.

As a parent or a teacher, set the rules of your class or household to include all members. Let the behavior child know that they are apart of the group and are expected to behave and follow rules as the rest of the class. When there is a deviance from the rules, avoid you will statements, like, “You will sit down or you will do your work.” Instead, give the consequence for the infraction and hold your ground. For every consequence, you should also have a reward system put into place. When you observe compliance to the rules, have a reward, either physical or verbal, ready to give.

Have the student, if they are ready, monitor their own behavior. Have a check sheet with different behaviors for them to avoid on them at all times. Each hour let them check off the good behaviors and the bad behaviors and own their own behavior. Owning their own behavior is the first step to changing the behavior and achieving behavior modification success.

If we follow the rule to eat only when truly hungry, those people who are “hungry” but weak and uncomfortable would fast until comfort and strength returned. Fasting would become one of the most common practices in our lives, at least, until we learn to live and eat to keep well and thus eliminate the need for fasting.

There are individuals who are always eating and always “hungry.” They mistake a morbid irritation of the stomach for hunger. These people have not learned to distinguish between a normal demand for food and a symptom of disease. They mistake the evidences of chronic gastritis or of gastric neurosis for hunger.

Hunger, as previously pointed out, is the insistent demand for food that arises out of physiological need for nourishment. Appetite, on the other hand, is a craving for food which may be the result of several different outside factors operating through the mind and senses. Anything that will arouse an appetite will encourage one to eat, whether or not there exists an actual need for food.

Hunger may be satisfied and appetite still persist, a not unusual thing. Our many course dinners, with everything especially prepared to appeal to the taste and smell, are well designed to keep alive appetite, long after hunger has been appeased. No man is ever hungry when he reaches the dessert, so commonly served after a many course dinner. Few, though filled to repletion and perhaps uncomfortable in the abdomen, ever refuse to eat the dessert. It is especially prepared to appeal to appetite. This style of eating necessarily and inevitably leads to overeating and disease. Too many articles of food at a meal over stimulate and induce overeating. Hunger and the sense of taste are the only guides as to the quantity and character of food required. If we eat when we are not hungry, and if the delicate sensibilities of taste have been dulled and deadened by gluttonous indulgence and by condiments, spices, alcohol, etc., it ceases to be a reliable guide.

The unperfected instinct of hunger craves most keenly the food that is most needed by the body and the unperfected taste derives the most pleasure and satisfaction out of the food or foods demanded, and will be satisfied when we have consumed sufficient of such food or foods to supply the body’s needs. But, if we have been in the habit of crowding the stomach when there is no demand for food, just because it is meal time, or because the doctor ordered it, and we know no other indication that enough food has been consumed, than that the stomach can hold no more, we are headed for disaster. The existence of a natural demand for food indicates that food is required by the body and that the organs of the body are ready to receive and digest it. Eating when there is no time, or as a social duty, or because one has been able to stimulate an appetite, is a wrong to the body. Both the quality and quantity, and the frequency of meals should be regulated by the rules of hygiene rather than by those of etiquette and convenience.

Colors

Dark colors look good at night or on cooler mornings where the sun doesn’t get you down, but here in most cities in India, the summer heat is exhausting, and can drain you of all your energy. So don’t wear dark colors on hot, sultry, tropical days. Not only will you feel uncomfortable, you will look it too. In addition, before long the heat will start to show on your face, making it look even more oily and sweaty than it is, and you will start looking drained and tired. On the other hand, if you wear something light and pastel, even if you feel hot or start sweating, you will still look cooler than you would in a dark shade.

Fabric

Crisp, cool, cotton fabrics look best in this season. Opt for great cuts with minimum fuss. There is no need to go all out with colorful sequins and beaded attire to look well dressed. Even a simple outfit with no can look incredibly classy if it fits well, and is in a good fabric. Chiffon is another fabric that works well in the summer, but it still doesn’t quite beat cotton for a lunch out. Stay away from heavy polyesters.

Jeans

Avoid wearing jeans during the summer. Although many youngsters cannot live without wrapping their legs in heavy denim, it isn’t quite the best option for a summer afternoon. In fact, cotton trousers are very comfortable, and a Capri in cotton can be ideal to make one look and feel cool. Team capri pants with a pair of sandals or slippers, and you’re set to set the afternoon ablaze! Never wear capri pants with closed shoes.

If you must wear jeans, opt for a pair in a very thin denim fabric. These work and look better than heavy denim in the summer - unless of course you’re going to be doing some heavy manual labor. Alternatively, wear denim capris - which still aren’t quite the same as cotton or linen capris, but they’re better summer option than full-length jeans.

Make-up

Heavy make-up during the day is anyhow not a good option, and on a hot summer afternoon, it’s even more avoidable. Opt for pastel shades of lipstick, or just draw on some gloss. Avoid lining your eyes all around with heavy black kohl. Instead, powder on eye shadow in a light, non-shimmery color, and apply a touch of light pink blush. Don’t forget the compact powder to disguise any signs of perspiration.

Feet

In summer, when your feet are likely to be exposed in sandals and other footwear, don’t neglect them. Apply cream at night regularly, so your feet don’t look dry during the day. Wearing slippers at home when walking around protects your feet from getting dry and dirty. Never step out with chipped nail polish on your hands or feet.

Are you sick and tired of the way your drinking water tastes at your house? Maybe it has a metallic taste, or has an unpleasant smell. What would you say if I told you that there are drinking water filters that can take our both unpleasant tastes and smells? The key is understanding what features work best for your situation. In this article, we will examine the causes of unpleasant taste and smell for water in order to understand what features are needed for drinking water filters.

The first key feature you want in your drinking water filter is the ability to absorb unpleasant odors. Water odor can be caused by minerals like sulfur, as well as organic material.

It’s unbelievable that there are so many substances present in your neighborhood water supply. The state and Federal government have quality standards for safe drinking water, but there are many substances that are not identified in the standard. These substances can affect the odor and taste of your water. A good strategy for getting rid of these unwanted substances is by using a water filtration system. This article will examine how a water filtration system can make your drinking water safer.

The first area of concern is the presence of harmful chemicals. Chemicals such as benzene and toluene are byproducts of chemical and manufacturing processes. Careless handling of these chemicals can result in a release into drainage systems that lead to lakes and ground water supplies. A good water filtration system can remove these harmful chemicals and make your drinking water safer. These are just some of the items to consider for your drinking water safety.

Many communities get their drinking water from lakes and reservoirs. These sources are subject to seasonal changes in water quality. Low water levels can produce conditions that increase the amount of organic matter in the water, such as algae or plants. This matter can add unpleasant odors or tastes to your water. This organic matter can be removed by a water filtration system, thereby improving the taste and smell of your drinking water.

Most people are aware of concerns with respect to drinking water that has undesired material in it, but there is also the aspect of cooking and bathing with water. Water is often used to rinse, steam or boil foods for preparation. We wash our hands and take showers and baths with the same water that we drink. This introduces the potential for skin reactions to undesired substances in the water supply. Water filtration can be used in these areas as well to reduce or eliminate unwanted chemicals and organic matter.

Now that you know this information, you should be well prepared to research a water filtration system for your home. The best systems for water filtration remove the undesirable chemicals and organic matter, while leaving the minerals our bodies need for good health. Keep these facts in mind, and you will be able to make an informed choice that will improve the safety and health of your drinking water!
