Dress According To The Season

Dark colors look good at night or on cooler mornings where the sun doesn’t get you down, but here in most cities in India, the summer heat is exhausting, and can drain you of all your energy. So don’t wear dark colors on hot, sultry, tropical days. Not only will you feel uncomfortable, you will look it too. In addition, before long the heat will start to show on your face, making it look even more oily and sweaty than it is, and you will start looking drained and tired. On the other hand, if you wear something light and pastel, even if you feel hot or start sweating, you will still look cooler than you would in a dark shade.
Fabric
Crisp, cool, cotton fabrics look best in this season. Opt for great cuts with minimum fuss. There is no need to go all out with colorful sequins and beaded attire to look well dressed. Even a simple outfit with no can look incredibly classy if it fits well, and is in a good fabric. Chiffon is another fabric that works well in the summer, but it still doesn’t quite beat cotton for a lunch out. Stay away from heavy polyesters.
Jeans
Avoid wearing jeans during the summer. Although many youngsters cannot live without wrapping their legs in heavy denim, it isn’t quite the best option for a summer afternoon. In fact, cotton trousers are very comfortable, and a Capri in cotton can be ideal to make one look and feel cool. Team capri pants with a pair of sandals or slippers, and you’re set to set the afternoon ablaze! Never wear capri pants with closed shoes.
If you must wear jeans, opt for a pair in a very thin denim fabric. These work and look better than heavy denim in the summer - unless of course you’re going to be doing some heavy manual labor. Alternatively, wear denim capris - which still aren’t quite the same as cotton or linen capris, but they’re better summer option than full-length jeans.
Make-up
Heavy make-up during the day is anyhow not a good option, and on a hot summer afternoon, it’s even more avoidable. Opt for pastel shades of lipstick, or just draw on some gloss. Avoid lining your eyes all around with heavy black kohl. Instead, powder on eye shadow in a light, non-shimmery color, and apply a touch of light pink blush. Don’t forget the compact powder to disguise any signs of perspiration.
Feet
In summer, when your feet are likely to be exposed in sandals and other footwear, don’t neglect them. Apply cream at night regularly, so your feet don’t look dry during the day. Wearing slippers at home when walking around protects your feet from getting dry and dirty. Never step out with chipped nail polish on your hands or feet.
